Portuguese road signs explained
Shape and colour tell you the type of sign. Learn the groups and you will recognise new signs too.
Warning signs
Red-bordered triangle: a danger ahead. Slow down and pay attention.
Priority signs
They say who goes first at intersections. They come before the "give way to the right" rule.
Prohibition signs
Round with a red border: what you must not do. A grey sign with a diagonal line ends the restriction.
Obligation signs
Round and blue: what you must do.
Information signs
Square or rectangular and blue: useful information.
